Elegant Christening at Snagov – Chef Voicu Florin

Recently, I had the pleasure of catering a truly memorable event – the christening of little Ana.M. The celebration took place on the scenic shores of Lake Snagov, with 80 guests and an elegant yet warm atmosphere that made the day special from the very start.

📲 It all started with a WhatsApp message…

Gina.M reached out to me via Chef Voicu Florin, using the built-in contact form. She described the occasion and mentioned her desire to offer something unique for her guests – a personalized culinary experience that blends tradition with refinement.

At that stage, I couldn’t give her a proposal right away – I needed to better understand the venue, the available equipment, and the overall setup. A few days later, we met on location.

🌿 The venue: stunning view, limited facilities

The event was hosted in a beautiful villa on the shores of Lake Snagov. The location was stunning – classy, intimate, and serene – but from a kitchen perspective, it posed a few challenges. The culinary space was quite limited, and some of the key cooking tools were missing.

To ensure everything would run smoothly, I tailored a custom offer that included rental of professional equipment, so the cooking process would match my quality standards.

🍴 The menu: a refined blend of local and international

For the appetizer, I proposed a tasting plate made up of 9 items – a delightful mix of traditional Romanian bites and two more sophisticated, globally-inspired elements to add a surprise factor. Guests appreciated the variety and creativity.

The second course featured a Romanian classic: stuffed cabbage rolls (sarmale) served with polenta and sour cream. It was a comforting and well-loved dish, especially among guests visiting from abroad.

For the main course, we served a beautifully cooked duck leg confit, paired with braised red cabbage and a light orange sauce. Balanced, flavorful, and plated with elegance – a true highlight of the evening.

🔧 The big day: planning, precision, and passion

On the day of the event, my team and I arrived early to begin setup. We brought in the necessary equipment, organized the cooking stations, and coordinated timing down to the minute. Every element – from preparation to plating – was executed with care and attention.

The service was smooth, the flow was just right, and the feedback was immediate. Guests were thrilled, and the hosts were genuinely touched by the culinary journey we offered.
